The Aussie selectors have decided that got something wrong in the plans for the T20 world cup, and Dirk Nannnes has finally been called up. The losers in this are the Netherlands, and possibly England, who don't have a great record against the Victorian quick.
Meanwhile, the selectors aren't acknowledging any mistakes from the beginning of hte Ashes and are also reported to be dropping Clark for the final Test. While a spin option could be valuable, and Swann did take Clark to task at the end of the last match, this seems to seriously understate his worth to the Australian, or just about any, team.

When I first saw Dirk in IPL;I asked someone he told he belongs to Australian Later I get to know that he is from Neatherland.Hope that he make use of this twist in his cricket life and comes as good bowler in future.

He was born and grew up in Australia, although his parents are Dutch and he has dual-citizenship. This latest selection definitely makes some sense, but I think his future is limited to T20.
Ya..but any T20 cricket fan will not forget the IPL T20 2009 semifinal's(DC vs DD)second inning's first over.
Now that he has recently played for the Dutch in international cricket, don't they have a say in whether he can play for Australia or not ?
I recall Kepler Wessels probably took the permision of Cricket Australia before he went on to play for S.Africa.
I don't know how the details were sorted out with South Africa - it was a special case, and possibly before these things had been systematised.
If the Netherlands were a Test nation, he would have to wait years before being eligible for Australia again. However, the current rules allow associate players to switch to Test teams straight away.
It is a bit funny, but the idea is to not discourage players like Ed Joyce and Eoin Morgan from playing for Ireland, even if they have aims of playing Test cricket at some stage.
Nannes is quick and bowls yorkers so he is a good pick for T/20's.
Stuart Clark is probably the best bowler at present when there is a bit of help in the pitch and likes to bowl on tracks with tennis ball bounce. For example in SA 06/07 and at Headingley but if Oval stays dry he may not be the best pick.
He doesn't look effective when the wicket is flat.
